2012-11-06: On Election Night 2012, after learning that he had finished 3rd in a 6-way race where only 2 candidates would be elected, Cory not only phoned the winning candidates (Ady Wickstrom and Emy Johnson) to congratulate them, but personally went to their victory party to wish them well in person, as did 4th place finisher Kirk Possehl.

2012-09-15: Literally RUNNING for office, Cory and supporters ran in the “Run With A Mission” 5k/10k run in Shoreview. Team Springhorn raised $325 to support local nonprofit Union Gospel Mission.

2012-07-28: Cory kicked off his first City Council campaign by walking in the Slice of Shoreview parade. A trumpet player for over 30 years, Cory tried to increase his name recognition by playing “Spring, Spring, Spring” on his horn while walking the parade route.
